| I hand sculpt this stunning barrette out of Satinwood (Chloroxylon swietenia), also known as Yellowheart from Sri-Lanka, a strong and durable wood known for its brilliant yellow color and lovely figure that shimmers and shines beautifully in the light. I then add a bright and cheery large honey colored genuine amber round in a darling and wonderfully detailed sterling silver daisy setting with handcrafted shaped and painstakingly applied petals. Two amber cabochons in sterling silver settings complete the look. The amber stands about 3/8 inch proud of the surface and the many inclusions within really sparkle as the light plays across it. A wonderful piece for spring and summer!
I then add 3 gorgeous honey-colored genuine amber cabochons in delicate hand-made sterling silver settings with lovely rope style detailing. The largest of the 3 amber cabochons sits a full 3/8 inch above the surface of the barrette, is easily viewable from all sides, and they all look just great when the light passes through them!
This barrette is 4 1/2 inches long with a 4 inch clip (size - large) and would be great for holding up lots of thick hair! |
