| I hand sculpted this 6 1/4" long hair stick out of one of the most rare and exotic woods in the world, Pink Ivory (Rhamnus zeyheri). I then add a rectangular turquoise cabochon in a simple and elegant sterling silver setting.
Pink Ivory - no, not the tusk from a pink elephant, :) but a beautiful wood from from Mozambique, Africa. Pink Ivory, with its watermelon pink coloring and lovely grain figure, is extremely rare and very difficult to find. It's called "the royal wood of the Zulus" because of its importance in local customs.
