With proper care, your handcrafted jewelry should last a lifetime. We recommend that you put your jewelry on after applying make up, lotions, or hair products. Avoiding chemicals, prolonged exposure to sunlight and heat will prolong the life of your jewelry. Remove jewelry before sleeping, bathing or swimming.
To slow oxidation (tarnishing) of sterling silver jewelry, store it in the airtight plastic bag (provided with your order), with anti tarnish paper or in a jewelry box lined with anti tarnish cloth.
To clean silver jewelry, avoid commercial cleaners, as they can remove patinas and erode the sparkle of some stones. Instead, wash in lukewarm, mild soapy water, then polish with soft cotton cloth. A polishing cloth such as the Sunshine cloth may be used for quick touch ups. Gold and gold filled jewelry should be washed in luke warm water and polished with a soft cotton cloth.
To protect your hair jewelry, always put on hair accessories after applying make up, lotions, or hair products. Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight and heat. Do not get hair jewelry wet and remove it before sleeping, bathing or swimming. When inserting hair sticks and hair pins with inlays or toppers, always hold and place in hair using the wood or silver base section and not the decorated top portion of the stick.
