| This elegant barrette is hand sculpted in finest quality, musical instrument grade, black Ebony (Diospyros crassiflora) from Africa. I then add a stunning gem grade rainbow moonstone cabochon in a elegant hand-made sterling silver setting. I oxidized, brushed and carefully polished by hand the sterling in this piece to add a little rustic character and accent the details in the setting. The moonstone cabochons sits a full 3/8 inch above the surface of the barrette, is easily viewable from all sides, and has outstanding color and gorgeous blue flash not captured in the photograph!
Ebony, famous for its rich jet-black color, has been used in the finest furniture and musical instrument making for centuries. It's one of the world's most prized and expensive hardwoods!
This barrette is 3" long on a 2 3/4" inch long clip (a size medium-small) and would be great for pulling back part for your hair or all of your hair if you have finer hair. |
