This elegant barrette is hand sculpted in finest quality, musical instrument grade, jet-black Ebony (Diospyros crassiflora) from Africa. I then add a beautiful handmade Sterling Silver and opal design to the front that features hand cut and fit pieces of sparkling fire 'n' ice Opal and Jet skillfully inlaid into shimmering channels of Sterling Silver. The deep ebony of the jet artfully contrasts with the incredible sparkle of the Opal. These gemstones have been inlaid in a striking pattern along shining channels of Sterling Silver. The sparkle of the Opal is the perfect compliment to the shine of the Sterling Silver and the jet black ebony sets the whole design off perfectly!
Ebony, famous for its rich jet-black color, has been used in the finest furniture and musical instrument making for centuries. It's one of the world's most prized and expensive hardwoods!
