| This elegant barrette is hand sculpted in finest quality, musical instrument grade, jet-black Ebony (Diospyros crassiflora) from Africa.
I then inlay 3 beautiful amber cabochons in delicate hand-made sterling silver Celtic settings with lovely detailing. I oxidized, brushed and carefully polished by hand the sterling in this piece to add a little rustic character and accent the details in the setting.
Ebony, famous for its rich jet-black color, has been used in the finest furniture and musical instrument making for centuries. It's one of the world's most prized and expensive hardwoods!
This barrette is 4 1/2 inches long with a 4 inch clip (size - extra large) and would be great for holding up lots of thick hair! |
